Bodrum - Gulf of Hisaronu - Bodrum

A short gulet cruise from Bodrum is Knidos, the Gulf of Hisaronu and more evidence of ancient settlements. In Knidos your gulet actually anchors in the original harbour with a view of the ruins of temples and theatres scattered about the slopes. Further on there are mountains divided by fertile valleys. In many bays you’ll see evidence of Roman, Hellenistic, Byzantine and medieval habitation. In the villages and remote bays time seems to have stood still. In contrast, the pretty and sleepy harbour of Datca can become quite lively at night in the bars along the waterfront. The town is also a good spot to shop for Turkish carpets and jewellery. Onwards from Datca you’ll explore more bays in the Gulf of Hisaronu such as red, rocky, pineclad Bencik and green, fertile Keci Buku. Bozburun’s small harbour, once a sponge diving centre, and the magical bays of Selimiye and Orhaniye complete this section of Turkey’s spectacular Blue Cruise gulet route.
